Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending time with family, especially attending comedy and musical theater shows. When she is not with family, Jenna stays active and loves traveling to new places and experiencing other cultures. One of her favorite parts about visiting a new place is trying new foods. Jenna will try (almost) any food once! One of her more exotic food adventures was trying “Cuy” while on a trip in Peru.
Jenna is passionate about Women’s Health and helping women advocate for their health concerns as they are routinely underserved. She puts a strong emphasis on educating patients, so they can feel empowered to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare.

I grew up on a farm. I may be off the farm but always consider myself a farm girl at heart with a love of horses. I have been married to Dennis for 30 years. We have grown children, Emily and Isaac.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time trying new recipes, home improvement projects, and am a DIY freak.
I’ve been in the nursing profession for over 35 years. During that time I have spent time in Geriatrics, on a post surgical floor for General Surgery, Urology and Women’s Services, and the last 28 of those years have been in the clinic with Urology or Urogynecology. I truly enjoy coming to work each day. I love getting to know the uniqueness of each patient and their family. I hope after our interactions they have enjoyed their visit by feeling heard, gaining information, and they feel comfortable asking us anything. It is wonderful to be part of a team who shares my beliefs that patients needs are our number one priority.
Bachelors in Neuroscience

Hoping to continue my education by getting a Masters in Nursing
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family. We have a lot of Mexican family traditions that are important and fun for us to be a part of. I am also currently enjoying the aunty life with my niece and nephew who were both born in 2023 and are only 10 months apart. I enjoy spending time with my best friends from high school, we try to get together and eat some good food. One of our favorite places to visit is Gyu-kaku, a Japanese BQQ joint. Overall, I am a home body and like spending time with those I am close with.
Since starting with Gerten Urogynecology, I have learned so much about women’s health and I hope my knowledge and skills grow even more by going back to school for my RN. Seeing the way that the Gerten team advocates for their patients and provides them knowledge for what they are experiencing is amazing. Seeing so many patients return and be happy about their progress is one of the many things I enjoy seeing while working for Gerten Urogynecology.

Hoping to attend medical school and become a urologist!
In my free time, I love attending my nieces' and nephews' various concerts and games, as well as spending time with my friends. My family is a huge ski family so this winter I will be re-joining Skijammers as a level 1 certified snowboarding instructor and have recently started training to become a ski patroller for Buck Hill ski area, which combines my love for snowboarding with health care. I also enjoy cooking, going for nature walks, and reading a good book.
Before joining the Gerten Team, I have jumped all over the country living in Omaha, San Diego, and New Orleans before settling back in Minnesota. Since I started in August, when I'm not working, I have been studying for the MCAT, with plans to apply to medical school this summer. Through work I have learned so much about urology and the specific issues facing those with vaginas. I am so fortunate to be working with such a passionate and empathetic group that goes above and beyond in patient care and ensuring that our patients feel heard. Joining Gerten Urogynecology has sparked my interest in learning more about dyspareunia and the neural networking connecting the brain and the bladder.
